Why Testosterone Injections Are Safer Than Gels

Testosterone Injections vs. Testosterone Gels

At Titan T-Center & Weight Loss, our mission is to empower men to live healthier, fuller lives by providing resources, information, and treatment in Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT). TRT can come in a variety of modalities – there are injections, gels, pads, oral applications, and even insufflation methods. That said, not all deliveries are created equally. For this blog, we wanted to take a look at a few of these methods and to tell you why injections are actually the safest bet.

Ultimately, the right method of treatment will be different for everyone and should be decided by you and your doctor. That said, injections carry a number of advantages over other methods. Gels can be messy and inconvenient, and can sometimes get rubbed off, causing confusions on how much to apply. Furthermore, absorption rates with gels may be lower than optimal, and some patients may not achieve the necessary testosterone levels. Patches can cause rashes at the treatment sight and can fall off during hotter summer months, causing difficulty and annoyance during treatment. Finally, topical treatment methods can have a higher conversion rate to other, unwanted hormones than injections.

Injections, however, deliver testosterone straight into the body – there’s no need to worry about absorption rates, messy gels, or irritating patches. Injections are the most direct method of testosterone replacement therapy and provide a high level of control over treatment. That’s why at Titan T-Center & Weight Loss, we exclusively use injections – we put your safety and the efficacy of your treatment above all else.
