Three Ways To Naturally Boost Your Testosterone Levels
Here at Titan T-Center & Weight Loss, we’re always looking for ways to help you live a healthier life. And while we’re big proponents of Testosterone Replacement Therapy for the right patient, there are some things you can do to naturally make sure your testosterone levels are where they need to be. So for this blog, we wanted to detail three easy tips to help ensure your testosterone levels are normal – naturally.
- Get Some Z’s: Few things can wreck your body’s natural balance than sleep deprivation. A lack of sleep can seriously impact a variety of hormones, and testosterone is no exception. Aim for at least 7 or 8 hours of sleep every night – even if that means rearranging your schedule or dropping your favorite TV show. Protecting your sleep schedule will give you a huge boost in mood, energy, and performance in addition to helping to keep your testosterone levels normal.
- Maintain a Healthy Weight: Men who are overweight or obese are much more likely to have decreased testosterone. Fat cells contain high levels of an enzyme called aromatase which converts testosterone into estradiol, a form of estrogen. Losing excess weight can go a long way towards bringing testosterone levels back in line. Additionally, if you are underweight, getting back to a recommended BMI can help to optimize your hormone levels.
- Exercise: This is a big one. Your body adapts to how you use it, and the same principle holds true for your hormones. Spending too much time lying on the couch sends a message to your body that you’re less active and need less testosterone, and your body will decrease your levels in response. Try to exercise regularly – getting a good mix of cardio and strength training is ideal for every aspect of your health.
